The big outdoor stage at Humphreys takes the winter off. Backstage Live does not. It is the lounge at Humphreys Restaurant, at the same 2241 Shelter Island Drive address, and musicians play there nightly.
What a night here looks like
This is a small room where people dance, not a concert hall, and plenty of the crowd comes to eat and have a drink as much as to watch. The bookings stay close to a few styles.
- Blues and jazz, including plenty of smooth jazz
- R&B, soul and funk
- Dance bands and themed nights built around a decade
Shows often start early in the evening, and some carry a cover charge paid at the door. Check the listing for the night's details.
Before you go
The lounge is 21 and up, so bring an ID. Parking works the same way it does for the outdoor shows, with paid parking at Humphreys and free public lots elsewhere on Shelter Island. The bay is right outside, and the air cools off fast once the sun goes down.
