Concerts at Harrah's Resort Southern California happen in the Events Center, a hall the resort lists at 2,200 seats in about 23,000 square feet. It came out of a $160 million renovation and expansion that also added a hotel tower, and the property took its present name in 2014 as that work wrapped up. The resort pitches the room for national touring comedy and bands.
One resort, more than one name
Before 2014 the resort was Harrah's Rincon. It belongs to the Rincon Band of LuiseƱo Indians, sits on the Rincon Reservation and is operated by Caesars Entertainment.
You may also see the address written as Funner, California. That is a promotional name the Rincon Band adopted for the land in 2016, not a town, and the area is part of the unincorporated community of Valley Center.
In the room
The resort's photos show the hall set with rows of seats facing the stage, and the same space turns into banquet and meeting rooms on other nights. Expect veteran rock, pop and R&B acts, comedy headliners and Vietnamese music shows. You'll find them on our pop, R&B and world music pages.
Getting up to Valley Center
Valley Center sits in the hills northeast of Escondido. Most of the drive from downtown San Diego is the 15, and the resort has put the trip at about 50 minutes. There is no train out here, so the real choices are driving, a rideshare or a room at the resort's hotel. A rideshare back to the city is a long trip after midnight, so some people book a room and make a night of it.
Before you go
- Gambling is 21 and over. Each show's listing carries its own age limit, so check yours before you bring anyone younger.
- Bring a photo ID either way.
- Door times, bag rules and parking for the night are on your ticket, and the ticket is the final word.
The other casino concert hall on this site is the Pala Events Center, farther north on Highway 76. For a seated show in downtown Escondido, try the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. More rooms in this part of the county are on our North County page.
